The Tui Vuda, Ratu Eparama Tavaiqia, marked his 94th birthday at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Nadi on Wednesday. The celebration brought together traditional leaders from Vuda, members of chiefly families, and villagers from Viseisei. This occasion also marked the 14th year of his leadership in the vanua.
During the celebration, Ratu Eparama expressed his gratitude for reaching this milestone. He stated, “I thank God for giving me life that I can be here and celebrate my birthday with you today. I am grateful for the leadership and the guidance that at this age I can still lead my vanua. Thank you all for the love and the support you have shown me.”
His spokesperson, Ratu Meli Tora, noted that Tui Vuda is currently the oldest living iTaukei paramount chief. Ratu Meli concluded with a blessing for the Tui Vuda, wishing for continued blessings on his life, leadership, and vanua.
