Transforming Education: Fiji’s Head Teachers Face New Challenges

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been urged to implement practical measures aimed at improving education and supporting children in Fiji. Minister for Education Aseri Radrodro conveyed this message during the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference held at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau.

Mr. Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an inspiring environment that stimulates children’s minds, encouraging them to become innovative thinkers and future leaders. He stressed the need to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, advocating for the empowerment of students to think independently.

“Teamwork is essential for social cohesion, but we must first cultivate the character of our children, instilling in them a sense of purpose, vision, and direction,” he stated.

He also encouraged Heads of Schools (HOS) to extend their roles beyond the classroom, urging them to engage with students and their families to provide support and assistance.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to lead your schools, and we must work towards creating an educational environment where every student can thrive, every teacher can excel, and every community can prosper,” Mr. Radrodro concluded.
