Transforming Education: A Call to Action for Fiji’s Head Teachers

The Fiji Head Teachers Association has been called upon to devise practical solutions that will enhance children’s education and transform the educational landscape in Fiji.

During the opening of the 41st Fiji Head Teachers Association Conference at the Sheraton Fiji Golf and Beach Resort in Denarau, Education Minister Aseri Radrodro emphasized the importance of creating an environment that inspires and fosters innovative thinking in children, encouraging them to become future solution-oriented leaders.

He stated that the association plays a vital role in bridging the divide between traditional education and modern innovation, urging educators to empower students to become independent thinkers.

“Teamwork is essential for social cohesion, but we must first develop our children’s character so they possess a sense of purpose, vision, and direction,” Mr. Radrodro remarked.

He encouraged Heads of Schools to expand their role beyond just teaching within classrooms and schools, urging them to engage with the community, assist students, and collaborate with parents.

“Be a transformative leader. The government has invested in you to lead your schools, and we must work towards creating an educational environment where every student can thrive, every teacher can excel, and every community can prosper,” added Mr. Radrodro.
