A man in his 20s has died from burns he sustained in a fire while working on a yacht in Nadi on Monday, according to the Fiji Police Force. The incident occurred as the victim and a 24-year-old colleague were performing maintenance on a yacht in Denarau when an explosion in the engine compartment caused the fire, resulting in both men suffering burns. They were quickly taken to Nadi Hospital and later transferred to Lautoka Aspen Hospital, where the victim succumbed to his injuries the following night. The 24-year-old remains hospitalized in critical condition. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
