A 36-year-old woman, who is accused of causing the death of an elderly woman in an accident on Queens Road on August 18, 2024, has been released on bail. She faces a charge of Dangerous Driving Occasioning Death and appeared in Lautoka Magistrates Court yesterday.
It is alleged that the woman lost control of her vehicle near Viseisei Bypass Road, causing it to leave the road and strike a post. The impact caused her car to swing back onto the road, where it collided with another vehicle. Tragically, a 75-year-old woman who was with the accused sustained injuries from the accident and later died.
The case has been postponed until October 15, 2024.
