A tragic incident occurred last Sunday evening in Sovi Bay, Sigatoka, where a national from Bangladesh drowned. According to police spokesperson Ana Naisoro, the victim was in the company of friends at the time of the incident.

Search efforts were promptly initiated, involving local community members from Vatukarasa and the Sigatoka Police. Sadly, these efforts were unsuccessful, and the search had to be suspended due to worsening weather conditions.

Authorities have indicated that they will resume their search operations in hopes of finding the victim.
