The body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, along the Rewa River has been located this morning.
Divisional Police Commander Eastern, Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, confirmed that the boy was swimming when the tragic incident took place.
The Fiji Police Force is urging parents to closely supervise their children, especially with the cyclone season and school holidays approaching.
They also expressed their gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and nearby communities for their assistance in the search efforts.
