A tragic incident occurred in Waidra, Baulevu, where a 5-year-old boy drowned in the Rewa River yesterday. His body was found this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern region, reported that the boy was swimming when the drowning happened. He urged all parents to closely monitor their children, especially with the cyclone season approaching in just a week and school holidays coming soon. SSP Cakacaka also expressed gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their efforts in the search for the young boy’s body.
