Police have recovered the body of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in the Rewa River near Waidra, Baulevu, yesterday. The body was found this morning.
Divisional Police Commander Eastern, Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, stated that the boy was swimming when the tragedy occurred. He emphasized the importance of parental supervision, urging all parents to keep a close eye on their children at all times.
SSP Cakacaka noted that the cyclone season is approaching, alongside the impending school holidays. He also expressed gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their support in the search for the young boy’s body.
