A 5-year-old boy tragically drowned in Waidra, Baulevu, near the Rewa River yesterday. His body was found this morning. Senior Superintendent of Police Joape Cakacaka, the Divisional Police Commander for the Eastern Division, reported that the young boy was swimming when the incident occurred. He urged parents to closely supervise their children, especially as the cyclone season approaches and the school holidays are nearing. SSP Cakacaka also expressed gratitude to the Goneturaga na Vunivalu of Kasavu and local communities for their support in the search efforts for the boy’s body.
