Lance Seeto, a celebrated chef and restaurant owner, has tragically been found dead at his residence in Suva. The Acting Divisional Police Commander for Central, Isoa Natui, confirmed the discovery, stating that the police were alerted after a colleague of Seeto’s went to his home on Clarke Street to check on him, having been unable to reach him through other means.
Upon arriving, the colleague found Seeto unresponsive and immediately notified the authorities. Police have indicated that the details surrounding his death remain unclear, and a Crime Scene Investigations Unit has been dispatched to gather information and begin the investigation.
Chef Seeto was a prominent figure in South Pacific cuisine and was involved in efforts to position Fiji as a premier culinary destination. He gained notable recognition for his television series “Taste of Paradise,” which was a finalist in the 2016 Asia Broadcasting Union awards. His contributions to the culinary field and his efforts to boost tourism through food will be remembered fondly.
