A woman in her mid-20s was discovered deceased at a residence in Raiwaqa, Suva, early yesterday morning. Local police reported that the victim sustained severe injuries inflicted by her partner, who subsequently fled the scene and evaded arrest for most of the day. According to authorities, a confrontation between the couple escalated into violence when the suspect used an object to harm the victim, leading to her death.
Investigations at the scene on Albert Lee Place indicated that the victim was a university student. Nearby employees from Duavata Taxis expressed their shock over the tragic incident. Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Mesake Waqa stated that several individuals have been questioned as part of the ongoing investigation. He mentioned that initial inquiries had been completed, and questioning of three additional individuals had begun, but refrained from confirming whether the suspect had been captured.
