A good Samaritan tragically lost his life while assisting a colleague in removing belongings from a burning home in Nadroumai village, located in Nadroga. The police reported that the man, aged in his 40s, collapsed inside the house, which was partially engulfed in flames. He was attempting to help clear out items from one of the rooms when the incident occurred. Emergency services swiftly transported him to Sigatoka Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Authorities are conducting an investigation, and a post-mortem examination will be performed to determine the exact cause of his death. In light of recent fire incidents, the Fiji Police Force is advising homeowners to take essential safety precautions and regularly check for fire hazards in and around their properties.
