Motorists experienced a traffic jam at Nadi International Airport yesterday due to a vehicle fire.
Police spokesperson Constable Wame Batutolu reported that the incident occurred at 10:30 AM. He explained that two vehicles collided, causing the one heading toward Lautoka to ignite. The 61-year-old driver, on his way to Lautoka, failed to yield to another vehicle making a turn at the roundabout to Nadi Airport while returning from Sabeto.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Additionally, it was noted that the traffic light has been malfunctioning for some time, with cones being used to direct traffic.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
