Motorists in Nadi should prepare for temporary traffic delays on Friday, November 22, and Saturday, November 23, due to the escort duties being conducted by the Fiji Police Force for the visit of United States Secretary of Defense, Mr. Lloyd Austin.
While there will not be any road closures, drivers are encouraged to yield to police escorts during the delegation’s transit.
On Friday, traffic management will occur from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. along the route from Nadi Airport to Votualevu and Blackrock Camp, ensuring a seamless escort. Post 5:00 p.m., traffic control measures will extend along the route from Votualevu to Denarau as the delegation proceeds to their next destination.
On Saturday, similar operations will take place beginning at 9:00 a.m. for the delegation’s journey from Denarau back to Nadi International Airport.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kasiano Vusonilawe, the Director of Operations for the Fiji Police Force, has reassured the public that every effort will be made to minimize delays.
