Tower Insurance Cultivates Future Leaders with Inaugural Vunilagi Scholarship

Tower Insurance has announced the recipients of its first-ever Vunilagi Scholarship, an initiative designed to nurture future leaders in Fiji and specifically within its insurance industry. The chosen recipients are Aqela Buloudruadrua, Shayal Gosai, and Saula Baleinubu, selected through a thorough evaluation process.

During a special ceremony at Tower’s new facility in Suva, Jajeena Bhan, co-head of the Tower Suva Hub, praised the quality of applicants. “Our aim is to discover inspiring students who can help create a more equal, resilient, and sustainable future for all Fijians,” Ms. Bhan commented. She added that Aqela, Shayal, and Saula epitomize the talent they seek.

The Vunilagi Scholarship was introduced as part of Tower’s 150th-anniversary celebrations in Fiji, offering a full year’s tuition to three final-year students enrolled at the University of the South Pacific (USP). The scholarship also includes paid internship opportunities which could lead to permanent roles with Tower Insurance.

This initiative aims to meet students’ educational needs while aligning with the company’s strategic priority of developing local talent to enhance its workforce. Applicant Shayal Gosai remarked that receiving the scholarship has inspired her to contribute positively to her community. Saula Baleinubu noted that the scholarship would equip him with vital skills and networking opportunities needed for his career. Meanwhile, Aqela Buloudruadrua expressed her appreciation, stating that this support would enable her to fulfill her personal and professional aspirations.

By introducing the Vunilagi Scholarship, Tower Insurance has positioned itself as a proactive participant in the local market, demonstrating its commitment to investing in the future leaders of Fiji and reinforcing its dedication to corporate social responsibility.
