The Total Energy team made a notable debut at the Business House Super Six Cricket Tournament, entering two teams with an emphasis on female participation.
Held at Albert Park, the tournament served as a valuable opportunity for the team to build their skills and knowledge with the aim of achieving success.
Team captain Finau Elder shared that Total Energy previously took part in the Super Cricket League and decided to explore corporate cricket this year.
By including two women in one of the teams, they created a great opportunity for more female participants to engage in the sport.
“Most of our players have experience from the Super Cricket competition, so they are familiar with the game, while a few are still learning, all with the aim of winning the tournament,” Elder remarked.
“We have two teams as part of our diversity and inclusion initiative within the company, and having women in one of the teams is encouraging for us.
“This is our first time participating in the business house league, and we are enjoying the experience while having a great time.”
Elder expressed gratitude towards management for their support and praised the players for coming together as a united team for the competition.
In other developments, the Fiji-India T20 semi-finals held yesterday morning saw Police defeat Army, scoring 225 runs to Army’s 179, thereby securing a well-earned victory.
