The Chief Strategist of the government, Pita Wise, has resigned from his position as the Prime Minister’s Permanent Secretary, effective immediately.
Luke Rokovada, the chair of the Public Service Commission, announced that Wise chose to leave the civil service for personal reasons. Wise had served as Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister since January 2023 and has held similar roles in past administrations.
Rokovada acknowledged Wise’s extensive career with the government, spanning over 30 years, and expressed gratitude for his significant contributions and excellent service in his role. He also extended best wishes to Wise for his future endeavors.
As of now, it is uncertain who will succeed Wise in his position.
