Tonga Welcomes Leaders for Transformative Pacific Forum

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka arrived in Tonga yesterday to participate in the 53rd Pacific Island Forum Leaders Meeting. Upon his arrival, he received a traditional welcoming ceremony from the Fijian community at St Paul’s Anglican Hall in Nuku’alofa.

The official opening ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow and is anticipated to host leaders from 18 Pacific nations. This year’s meeting, themed “Transformative Resilient Pasifiki: Build Better Now,” will be chaired by Tonga’s Prime Minister, Hu’akavemeiliku Siaosi Sovaleni.

The forum aims to address critical challenges facing the Blue Pacific Continent and to enhance cooperation among the nations in pursuit of common objectives. The meeting will wrap up on August 30.
