Title Fight Erupts in Chaos: Fans and Fighters Clash in Stunning Melee

Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka was the scene of chaos on Saturday night during the Heavyweight Championship fight between James Singh and Semi Dauloloma, organized by Bluewater Boxing Promotion.

Dauloloma started the match strong, knocking Singh down in the first round. Singh, however, displayed remarkable resilience, managing to get back on his feet and press on despite taking more heavy hits in the second round. Tensions escalated toward the end of the second round when both fighters fell to the canvas.

While on the ground, Singh delivered three contentious strikes to the back of Dauloloma’s head, leading officials to call for a ten-minute medical break. In a surprising twist, Dauloloma aggressively confronted Singh in the ring during the recovery period, resulting in an eruption of punches and leading to a chaotic brawl involving trainers and spectators from both sides.

The situation quickly spiraled out of control, with punches directed at referees and even police officers who attempted to restore order. Eventually, officials regained control of the match, declaring it a no contest, which meant that James Singh retained his Fiji heavyweight title amid the turmoil.

The unforeseen events left fans and officials shocked, overshadowing what was expected to be an exciting competition. This incident raises concerns about maintaining discipline within the sport. The abrupt conclusion has sparked discussions regarding a potential rematch and the future of both fighters in the heavyweight division.

Singh expressed his willingness for a rematch, stating, “If he wants it, I am ready for it. It was unprofessional for him (Dauloloma) to do what he did in the ring.” Conversely, a frustrated Dauloloma criticized Singh’s actions, asserting, “He punched me in the head from the back while I was down. What kind of champion is that? I want a rematch for this, soon.”
