Three individuals were taken into custody on Tuesday following their alleged possession of illegal drugs. The arrests were made by the police’s K-9 Unit in the West, who stopped a vehicle near Waiyavi in Lautoka. Here, they searched a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place in Nadi Town, uncovering two clear plastic bags containing white substances thought to be methamphetamine.
In a separate incident in Suva, authorities apprehended a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham after discovering what appeared to be marijuana seedlings in his possession. The Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit carried out a raid at his residence on the same day, resulting in the seizure of the suspected marijuana plants.
All three suspects are currently in police custody as investigations into these cases are ongoing.
