Three individuals are set to appear in court today to answer charges related to an aggravated robbery that took place last month. The suspects are accused of stealing a vehicle, which they allegedly used during a robbery in the Lalita Bhindi sub-division of Vatuwaqa. There, they reportedly stole a safe and various electronic goods from a local businessman.
Following the incident, the Southern Division and Samabula task forces have been diligently pursuing leads, which eventually led to the arrest of the three men in Raiwaqa earlier this week.
The accused, aged 36, 37, and 40, face multiple charges, including criminal trespass, aiding and abetting theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, aiding and abetting aggravated burglary, aiding and abetting aggravated robbery, and serious assault. They will be brought before the Suva Magistrates Court for the proceedings.
This case underscores the important work of local law enforcement in addressing crime and enhancing community safety. As the judicial process unfolds, it is hoped that justice will be served and that such incidents can be minimized in the future. This incident also serves as a reminder to the community about the importance of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities to the authorities.
