Three men are set to appear in a special court session today, facing charges related to an aggravated robbery that occurred last month. The suspects are accused of stealing a vehicle which was later used to commit a robbery at the Lalita Bhindi sub-division in Vatuwaqa. During this incident, a businessman’s safe and various electronic items were reportedly stolen.
Following the robbery, law enforcement agencies, specifically the Southern Division and the Samabula task forces, pursued multiple leads that ultimately led to the apprehension of the suspects in Raiwaqa this week.
The accused, aged 36, 37, and 40, are confronted with an extensive list of charges. These include criminal trespass, aiding and abetting the theft of a motor vehicle, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and a serious assault charge. They are expected to be presented at the Suva Magistrates Court.
This situation underscores the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to tackle and resolve cases of serious crime, reflecting a commitment to community safety. The judicial process will play a critical role in addressing the alleged actions of these individuals and restoring security to the affected business community.
