During the graduation ceremony for the 2/24 Junior Staff Officers course on October 4, 2024, Captain Lepani Vaniqi emphasized the critical role of effective communication in leadership at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks Officers Mess in Nabua, Fiji.
As the Director of Finance, Logistics, and Acquisition, Captain Vaniqi served as the chief guest and praised the Officers Training School Staff for their dedication and commitment in facilitating the successful completion of this year’s course.
He stressed that communication is essential in leadership, highlighting that it should be a reciprocal practice where leaders not only convey their vision but also actively listen to feedback from their teams. This approach fosters respect and acknowledges the contributions of team members.
In his concluding remarks, Captain Vaniqi declared that “communication is not merely a tool for leadership; it is the essence of leadership itself,” underscoring its importance in inspiring, collaborating, managing change, and building strong relationships.
