The Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) has announced a temporary road closure on Kings Road, specifically affecting the Suva-bound lanes from the Nakasi Road junction to the Adi Lady Davila Road junction. This closure is scheduled for Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2 PM to 10 PM.
The reason for this closure is to trim three large trees whose branches have begun to obstruct the pedestrian footpath, cycle lane, bus shelter, and part of the road. These essential works are part of FRA’s commitment to ensuring safe access for both pedestrians and drivers.
During the closure, traffic heading towards Suva will be redirected via Nakasi Road, Vavalagi Road, and Vishnu Deo Road, before returning to Kings Road as per the accompanying diagram.
The FRA expects the work to be completed within the planned timeframe and apologizes for any noise disturbances during this period, thanking residents in the area for their understanding.
For additional inquiries or more information, members of the public can contact the FRA at the toll-free number 5720 (available weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM) or via email at info@fijiroads.org.
