Police are looking into the case of two 16-year-olds found in possession of marijuana, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu. The teenagers were discovered with drugs on school grounds in different locations—one in Sigatoka and the other in Kinoya.
ACP Driu confirmed that the student in Sigatoka was caught by a Year 10 teacher, who subsequently reported the incident to the authorities. Both teenagers are currently in custody as investigations continue.
Driu emphasized the critical role of parents in preventing drug use among their children. He urged parents to regularly check their children’s belongings before school and to be vigilant about the friends and visitors their children interact with at home.
