Police are looking into the situation involving two 16-year-olds who were found in possession of marijuana, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu. The teenagers were discovered with the illegal substance on their school grounds, one in Sigatoka and the other in Kinoya.
Mr. Driu mentioned that the student in Sigatoka was identified by a Year 10 teacher, who then reported the incident to the authorities. Both teenagers are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.
ACP Driu emphasized the crucial role parents play in preventing drug use among children. He stated that it is the responsibility of parents to check their children’s bags before they leave for school and to oversee the friends and visitors in their homes.
