Teeing Off for Charity: Join the Caritas Fiji Golf Day!

The Caritas Fiji Golf Day, organized by the charitable arm of the Catholic Church of Fiji, is scheduled to occur at the renowned Denarau Golf Club on November 2.

Arthur Groome, the director of Caritas, announced that registrations for the event are still open, promising an enjoyable day of competition for participants.

This year’s event, themed “Christmas in November,” aims to provide a day packed with golf, friendship, and opportunities to give back to the community. Groome emphasized that the event caters to both seasoned golfers and newcomers, offering a chance for fun, making a meaningful impact, and spending quality time with friends and colleagues.

Funds raised from last year’s event were allocated to the Church’s charitable initiatives supporting schools, community groups, and other beneficiaries aligned with the Caritas Society. These contributions facilitated repair works at Saint Agnes Primary School in Samabula, improving the school’s infrastructure and preparing it as an evacuation center during disasters in the Suva Nabua and Samabula East regions.

Groome expressed appreciation to the public for their generosity and to the participants for their support, which enables Caritas to assist those in need both currently and in the future. He also extended thanks to sponsors and donors for their contributions, which make this event possible and help further the organization’s mission of aiding others.
