Tee Off for Charity: Join the Caritas Fiji Golf Day!

The Caritas Fiji Golf Day, organized by the charitable branch of the Catholic Church of Fiji, is scheduled to take place at the renowned Denarau Golf Club on November 2.

Arthur Groome, the director of Caritas, announced that registrations for the event are still open, promising participants an enjoyable day of competition.

This year’s theme, “Christmas in November,” ensures a day filled with golf, camaraderie, and a spirit of philanthropy, according to Groome. He emphasized that whether individuals are experienced golfers or novices, the event offers a great chance to have fun, make a difference, and connect with friends and colleagues.

Proceeds from last year’s tournament were used to support the Church’s charitable initiatives, benefiting schools, community groups, and other organizations working in conjunction with the Caritas Society. Specifically, funds were allocated for repairs at Saint Agnes Primary School in Samabula, improving the building’s standards and enabling its use as an evacuation center during emergencies in the Suva Nabua and Samabula East areas.

Groome expressed his gratitude to the public for their generosity and to the participants for their support, which allows the organization to continue assisting those in need both now and in the future. He also thanked the sponsors and donors whose contributions make the event possible and help sustain their mission of aiding others.
