The Caritas Fiji Golf Day, organized by the charitable division of the Catholic Church of Fiji, is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Denarau Golf Club on November 2.
Arthur Groome, director of Caritas, has announced that registration for the event remains open, promising a day of engaging competition for all participants. “This year’s event, themed ‘Christmas in November,’ will ensure a day filled with golf, camaraderie, and a commitment to giving back,” Groome stated.
“Whether you’re an experienced golfer or just starting out, this occasion offers a great chance to have fun, make a positive impact, and enjoy a day with friends and colleagues.”
The funds raised from last year’s event were utilized for the Church’s charitable initiatives supporting schools and community groups, alongside others working directly with Caritas Society. This included repairs at Saint Agnes Primary School in Samabula, enhancing the school’s infrastructure for use as an evacuation center during emergencies in the Suva Nabua and Samabula East areas.
“We are grateful to the public for their generosity and to all participants in the competition for their ongoing support, as it helps us assist those in need, both now and in the future,” Groome added. “We also extend our thanks to our sponsors and donors for their contributions, which enable us to host this event and continue our mission of helping others.”
