The Caritas Fiji Golf Day, organized by the charitable arm of the Catholic Church of Fiji, is scheduled to take place at the prestigious Denarau Golf Club on November 2.

Arthur Groome, the Caritas director, announced that registration for the event is still ongoing, promising an enjoyable day of competition for all attendees.

This year’s theme is “Christmas in November,” which will emphasize a day of golf, community, and philanthropic spirit. Groome stated, “Whether you are an experienced golfer or a newcomer, this event is a great chance to have fun, create a positive impact, and connect with friends and colleagues.”

The funds raised from last year’s Golf Day supported various charitable initiatives, including contributions to schools and community groups affiliated with the Caritas Society. Notably, the donations helped repair Saint Agnes Primary School in Samabula, improving the school’s facilities and enabling it to serve as an evacuation center during emergencies in the Suva Nabua and Samabula East regions.

Groome expressed appreciation for the public’s generosity and for those participating in the competition, noting that their support allows Caritas to continue aiding those in need. He also thanked sponsors and donors for their contributions, which enable the organization to host the event and further its mission of helping others.
