Tech Boost for Taveuni Students: Computers Transform Learning Experience

Students at Wainikeli Junior Secondary School in Taveuni have received a boost in their educational resources with the donation of four HP desktop computers and a printer, valued at $3,299. The donation was made by Paradise Tech Traders, an IT company based in Savusavu, and it aims to enhance the digital skills of the students.

Company director Shavneel Singh expressed optimism that this contribution will significantly benefit the students in improving their IT knowledge. He highlighted the importance of keeping pace with the digital era, noting, “We are sure students are up to par with the digital era.”

Eneriko Qalica, the head of the school, was deeply appreciative of the donation, believing it will be cherished and utilized by the students for years to come. He encouraged them to use the resources wisely and emphasized the potential for additional learning opportunities through the internet. Qalica acknowledged that having computers available would serve as a morale booster for students in a rural setting, raising expectations among parents and students alike for improved academic performance.

In addition to the donation of computers, Mr. Singh also contributed funds to assist in preparations for the school’s athletes to compete in the annual Coca-Cola Games in Suva. He expressed a commitment to supporting local schools and communities whenever possible.

Similar donations and initiatives across Fiji’s schools underline a growing trend of enhancing educational infrastructure. For instance, Ratu Kadavulevu School recently received new desktop computers valued at over $36,000, which reflects a broader movement aimed at improving educational resources and supporting students’ academic journeys throughout the country.

This ongoing focus on education provides hope for a brighter future for Fiji’s youth, as such contributions not only enhance learning experiences but also inspire students to seize opportunities ahead, paving the way for personal and academic success.
