The township of Tavua is set to pause its daily activities as it honors its football players for their outstanding achievements over the season. Under the leadership of Dr. Diva Singh, Tavua’s football team has reached a significant milestone by qualifying for the Premier Division, preparing to compete against the nation’s top teams in the 2025 season.
The team, known as the Gold Miners, secured the Digicel Senior League Viti Levu title and triumphed in the national playoff against Bua, ensuring their place in the top league. They concluded their impressive season with a 1-0 victory over Nasinu in the finals of the FMF Inter District Championship (IDC) held in Lautoka, winning the Premier Division title as well.
In recognition of their hard work and dedication, the players will share a total of $12,750, which they earned through their achievements this season. This celebration not only highlights their successes on the pitch but also fosters a sense of community pride in Tavua.
