Labasa football team’s goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau has secured a position in the Fiji Bulaboys squad. Tamanisau significantly contributed to the Babasiga Lions’ victory in the FMF IDC, where he received the Golden Glove award for his outstanding performance.

Coach Rob Sherman has announced a 29-member squad for the Fiji National Football Team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers. Alongside Tamanisau, striker Christopher Wasa-sala and defender Sekove Nai-vaka-nanumi, both of whom excelled during the FMF IDC, have also been included.

The squad features international players such as Stafford Rangers defender Scott Wara and Charlton Athletic’s Josh Qereqeretabua. Additionally, Nadi FC goalkeeper Joela Biu-vanua has been called up to join the team.

The players are set to begin training on Sunday at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba to get ready for the qualifiers. The Fiji Bulaboys will play against Papua New Guinea in their next match in Port Moresby next month.
