Labasa football team goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau has secured a position in the Fiji national team, known as the Bulaboys. Tamanisau played a pivotal role in leading the Babasiga Lions to victory in the FMF IDC, where he was awarded the Golden Glove for his performances.
Coach Rob Sherman has announced a 29-member squad for the Fiji National Football Team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers. Alongside Tamanisau, the squad features striker Christopher Wasa-sala and defender Sekove Nai-vaka-nanumi, both of whom made significant contributions during the FMF IDC.
The team also includes international players such as Stafford Rangers defender Scott Wara and Charlton Athletic defender Josh Qereqeretabua. Additionally, Nadi FC goalkeeper Joela Biu-vanua has received a call-up.
The squad will begin training on Sunday at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba as they prepare for the upcoming qualifiers. The Fiji Bulaboys are scheduled to play against Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby next month.
