Labasa football team goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau has successfully secured a position in the Fiji Bulaboys squad. Tamanisau played a pivotal role in leading the Babasiga Lions to victory in the FMF IDC, where he was honored with the Golden Glove award.

Coach Rob Sherman has announced a 29-member squad for the national team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers. Alongside Tamanisau, the squad also includes striker Christopher Wasa-sala and defender Sekove Nai-vaka-nanumi, both of whom excelled during the FMF IDC.

The team features international players such as Stafford Rangers defender Scott Wara and Charlton Athletic defender Josh Qereqeretabua. Additionally, Nadi FC goalkeeper Joela Biu-vanua has also received a call-up.

The team is scheduled to commence their training camp on Sunday at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba, as they ready themselves for the qualifying matches. The Fiji Bulaboys are set to face Papua New Guinea in their upcoming match in Port Moresby next month.
