Labasa football team goalkeeper Simione Tamanisau has successfully made his way into the Fiji Bulaboys squad. Tamanisau was instrumental in the Babasiga Lions’ victory at the FMF IDC, where he also received the Golden Glove award for his exceptional performance.
Coach Rob Sherman has announced a 29-member squad for the Fiji National Football Team as they prepare for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Oceania Qualifiers. In addition to Tamanisau, striker Christopher Wasa-sala and defender Sekove Nai-vaka-nanumi, who both excelled during the FMF IDC, have also earned spots on the team.
The squad features international players, including Stafford Rangers defender Scott Wara and Charlton Athletic defender Josh Qereqeretabua, along with Nadi FC goalkeeper Joela Biu-vanua, who has been called up as well.
The team is scheduled to begin training camp on Sunday at the Fiji FA Academy in Ba in preparation for the qualifiers. The Fiji Bulaboys are set to face Papua New Guinea in their upcoming match in Port Moresby next month.
