The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) starting October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu shared that preparations are underway as the team prepares to travel to Churchill Park in Lautoka.
They will compete in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu. Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously secured victories only in the Senior division at the IDC and is eager to claim the Premier division title this time.
He recognizes that both Tavua and Savusavu will be motivated to perform well, especially since this is the final tournament of the year. “It’s definitely a tough pool with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” he stated.
“We will give our best effort. Most of our Under-19 and youth players will get the opportunity to participate in the IDC for valuable experience. We are ready to make an impact on game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to 20.
