The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) starting on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu expressed confidence in his team’s preparations ahead of their matches at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
They will compete in Group B of the Premier division alongside Tavua and Savusavu. Manu noted that while Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously claimed victory in the Senior division at the IDC, they are now aiming to capture the Premier division title.
He acknowledged the heightened competition, particularly against Tavua, who have recently been promoted. “We will give our best shot,” he stated. Manu emphasized that the tournament presents an opportunity for many of their under-19 and youth players to gain valuable experience.
The IDC will take place from October 15 to 20, and the team looks forward to showcasing their efforts on game day.
