The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team plans to rely on its Under-19 players during the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC) set to begin on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team is preparing thoroughly before heading to Churchill Park in Lautoka. Tailevu/Naitasiri is placed in Group B of the Premier division, alongside Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu noted that the team has previously only achieved victory in the Senior division at the IDC and is eager to clinch the Premier division title this year. He acknowledged that the two competing teams are motivated to perform well as this marks the final tournament of the season.
“It’s definitely a tough pool with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” he remarked. “We will give it our best effort. Most of our Under-19 and youth players will have the opportunity to compete in the IDC for valuable experience. We aim to make a strong impression on game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15-20.
