The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players for the upcoming FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), starting on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that his team is making the necessary preparations ahead of their matches at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
In Group B of the Premier division, Tailevu/Naitasiri will compete against Tavua and Savusavu. Manu highlighted that although the team has previously only claimed the Senior division title at the IDC, they are eager to achieve victory in the Premier division this year.
He recognizes that the participating teams are motivated to perform well, as the IDC serves as the final tournament of the season. “We are definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” Manu commented. “We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given an opportunity at the IDC to gain valuable experience. We will do our best come game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to October 20.
