The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), which begins on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu confirmed that the team is getting ready for their matches at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Tailevu/Naitasiri will compete in Group B of the Premier division, facing off against Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu highlighted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously only claimed victory in the Senior division at the IDC and is now eager to secure the Premier division title. He noted that both opposing teams would strive for strong performances, as the IDC marks the final tournament of the year.
“Definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, they have just been promoted,” Manu stated. “We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given a chance at the IDC to gain valuable exposure. We will definitely do something come game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to October 20.
