The Tailevu/Naitasiri football team is set to rely on their Under-19 players as they prepare for the FMF Inter-District Championship (IDC), starting on October 15. Head coach Priyant Manu stated that the team will make the necessary preparations before heading to Churchill Park in Lautoka. They are placed in Group B of the Premier division, competing against Tavua and Savusavu.
Manu noted that Tailevu/Naitasiri has previously only secured victory in the Senior division at the IDC and aims to clinch the Premier division title this year. He is aware that both Tavua and Savusavu will be motivated to perform well, given that the IDC marks the final tournament of the year.
“We are definitely in a tough pool with Tavua, who have just been promoted,” Manu remarked. “We will give our best shot. Most of our under-19 and youth players will be given a chance at the IDC to gain valuable experience. We plan to make a significant impact come game day.”
The IDC will take place from October 15 to 20.
