Swing for a Cause: Join the Caritas Fiji Golf Day!

The Caritas Fiji Golf Day, organized by the charitable arm of the Catholic Church of Fiji, is scheduled to occur at the prestigious Denarau Golf Club on November 2.

Arthur Groome, the director of Caritas, has announced that registrations for the tournament remain open, promising an enjoyable day of competition for all participants.

This year’s theme, “Christmas in November,” is set to create a day filled with golf, camaraderie, and a spirit of generosity, according to Groome. He emphasized the event’s inclusivity, welcoming both experienced golfers and newcomers, and highlighted the opportunity it presents to enjoy fun, make a difference, and connect with friends and colleagues.

Proceeds from last year’s tournament supported the Church’s charitable initiatives, benefiting schools, community groups, and organizations partnered with the Caritas Society. One key project funded by the contributions was the repair and enhancement of Saint Agnes Primary School in Samabula, which now serves as both a school and an evacuation center in times of disaster for the Suva Nabua and Samabula East communities.

Groome expressed gratitude to the public for their generosity and to participants in the golf competition for their support, which enables ongoing assistance for those in need. Additionally, he thanked sponsors and donors whose contributions make the event possible, allowing Caritas to continue its mission to help others.
