Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old entrepreneur, is successfully running a bakery business called Three T’s in Naruwai, Dama, Bua, contributing to community growth and local economic development. Initially launched just a month ago, the bakery has seen a positive response from the community, especially in Dama, where local residents frequently purchase goods.
Loga highlighted the bakery’s importance, stating it helps bridge gaps in access to baked goods and other supplies, particularly for those living in remote areas. The bakery is designed to cater to about 130 households in the local villages, offering essential products like cream buns, cheese buns, pizzas, coconut rolls, and various cakes.
In the past three weeks, the bakery has been thriving, with sales increasing as residents continue to purchase goods locally rather than traveling long distances to marketplaces like Labasa or Nabouwalu. Loga’s initiative is also aimed at providing job opportunities for those who are unemployed in his community, and he emphasized the significance of innovation and continuous improvement in business operations.
The local government has expressed interest in supporting such small businesses, recognizing their value in enhancing community livelihoods. Loga encourages local youth and the community at large to embrace entrepreneurial spirit and remain focused on hard work, as he believes it leads to overall prosperity.
