Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old business owner, highlights the importance of community collaboration in driving local economic growth. His bakery business, named Three T’s, located in Naruwai, Dama, Bua, has recently seen success after only a month of operation. The bakery has become a popular destination for residents from Dama and nearby areas, allowing the community to access fresh baked goods without the need to travel long distances to Labasa or Nabouwalu.
Loga has partnered with a local couple to establish a bakery that can cater to the local demand. “Our bakery is primarily operational in Dama and serves as a significant benefit to the surrounding villages, where residents can now enjoy freshly made products,” he stated.
The bakery offers an array of items including cream buns, cheese buns, pizza, coconut rolls, and various cakes, providing a much-needed service to the residents and creating job opportunities in the area. Loga believes that the bakery’s success is linked to the local purchasing habits in the region, which have seen an increase in business transactions over the past three weeks.
Despite facing challenges in distributions from remote villages, he expressed optimism about future growth and emphasized the need for ongoing support and development from the local community. Loga encourages residents and youth to remain positive and proactive in their work to ensure sustainable progress as they navigate challenges in their daily lives.
