Tevita Loga, a 56-year-old entrepreneur, is focused on enhancing local businesses and providing assistance to community members through his bakery, Three T’s, located in Naruwai, Dama, Bua. The business has been operating for just one month after being established with the intention of serving the demands of local residents, who are purchasing goods from the area around Dama in Bua.
Loga shares that the bakery’s primary operations began in Dama, highlighting the significant need for such a business to support local families, particularly those who previously faced challenges in accessing bakery products, especially in remote regions. He notes that approximately 130 households in the area can now conveniently acquire baked goods without needing to travel more than 200 kilometers to Labasa or Nabouwalu.
Recent observations over the past three weeks indicate a steady increase in business, with community members actively purchasing items despite some inconsistencies in bread supplies. Feedback from local residents in nearby villages such as Kubulau and Nasolo reflects a growing demand for their product range, which includes cream buns, cheese buns, pizza, coconut rolls, and cakes.
Loga emphasizes the importance of this bakery in creating job opportunities for the unemployed within the community and fostering economic development through local initiatives. He encourages everyone to consider their contributions to society and remain dedicated to improving their livelihoods.
Despite some logistical challenges, such as limited transport options from Labasa and securing ingredients, there is a commitment to continue providing essential services to the community and ensuring the bakery meets local needs while supporting economic growth in the region.
