SVC Celebrates 75 Years of Empowerment and Excellence!

Swami Vivekananda College (SVC) recently marked its 75th anniversary with a platinum jubilee celebration. Founded in 1949, the institution has consistently delivered quality education to its students over the decades.

Under the theme “Celebrating 75 years of Youth Empowerment and Nation Building,” SVC has established itself as a center of learning where students pursue knowledge and excellence. The event featured Education Assistant Minister Iliesa Vanawalu as the chief guest.

“This Platinum Jubilee is a time for reflection for everyone involved in this institution,” Mr. Vanawalu stated. He emphasized the importance of continuing to guide the college in a positive direction and suggested that the celebration should embody the core values and notable achievements of the institution.

Mr. Vanawalu highlighted SVC’s significant role in providing quality education to the youth of the community and its contributions to the development of Malolo, Nadi, and surrounding areas. He acknowledged the college’s rich history and deemed this celebration a momentous occasion to recognize its remarkable accomplishments.

Starting from just 19 students as Shri Vivekananda High School in 1949, SVC has grown immensely, now catering to over 1,000 students who receive the necessary education and support to succeed.

Mr. Vanawalu praised the founders of SVC—including Swami Rudrananda, A.D. Patel, Sadhu Kuppuswami, and other Sangam leaders—for their vision in creating the school, which has significantly enriched the local community by providing educational opportunities.

He further commented that the theme of the celebration captures the essence of Swami Vivekananda College, asserting that many talented individuals have passed through its halls, achieving success in both academic and creative pursuits.

The jubilee celebration took place at the school auditorium, bringing together students, faculty, and the community to honor the institution’s legacy and future.
