Suva is currently facing challenges with player injuries as they gear up for their final pool match against Taveuni in the primary schools inter-district competition taking place in Labasa. Coach Mohammed Hussain emphasized the significance of improving their second goalkeeper’s performance to boost their chances of winning the upcoming game.
“Our goalkeeper is injured,” Hussain stated. Despite these difficulties, he expressed confidence in the team’s ability to secure a spot in the finals. “We will come back stronger in our next game against Taveuni,” he added.
In an interview, he identified the need to strengthen their defense, which he acknowledged has been a weak area in recent matches during the competition. “We will go back to the drawing board to analyze our last games and find ways to correct our mistakes,” he said.
Hussain also noted that the changing weather conditions have affected the players’ performance. “The boys are trying to adapt to the Babasiga heat,” he mentioned.
In their previous match against Navua, Suva managed a close victory with a score of 1-0 and played to a draw against Labasa at one goal each.
