Successful business sales are taking place at the Adi Senitoa event currently being held in Suva this week.
Nemani Saronicava, a leader in the food business industry, shared that the event, which features local food vendors from Nausori, Lomaiviti, and other areas, has been promising. Following a two-year absence due to military operations, vendors have returned to their hometowns, utilizing the opportunity to support their businesses.
He noted that after five years of challenges, business has picked up again, particularly for a venture known as Crave Crazy Fijian Delicacy, which has gained popularity and has a prominent stall in Suva’s main market.
Vendors are keenly dedicated to uplifting their families through their businesses, ensuring they are doing well and recovering from previous hardships. Pricing for food items at the event ranges from $5 to $20, which reflects the current economic climate.
All the food sold originates from local farms and markets, with options including fish, meat, taro, and authentic Fijian dishes available for customers. Popular items like Kokoda, pig, lovo, and various other traditional foods are attracting interest from attendees.
Arieta Ravula, one of the selected vendors from the Fiji Arts Council, expressed satisfaction with her flourishing business. At 61 years old, and hailing from Namata, Bau, Tailevu, she has been operating in the local market for three years. She is encouraged by her success and the collective operation with a relative at the event.
She emphasized that the earnings rely on small sales but have allowed them to sustain their work and the venture at the market. This is indeed an exceptional opportunity to engage with the community while making a profit.
Ravula exclaims that she sells clothing items along with handcrafted goods, which include smaller bags, laptop cases, cosmetic bags, and more, with prices for larger items reaching up to $60.
Throughout this week of the Adi Senitoa event, the outlook for her business appears bright. The items sold have mostly been well-received, providing excellent economic benefits. She noted that some days yield up to $1000 in sales, showcasing the potential of such opportunities.
The funds collected will support various family needs and help maintain her business operations.
